A Lovely Summer
<Yeonmin’s POV>
Summer time, sighed. Another hot month, really boring month I’d say. I never really anticipate that much about summer except for the fact that there are no classes so I’m happy about though it is really boring. Always same routine will happened, wake up almost noon, eat lunch, computer, eat dinner, computer, record, watch TV stayed late at night, actually almost dawn to be exact. Ahihi, I didn’t mind, really. I have surfing the net, record songs, multi-tasking. Even it’s the same routine, it’s still fun especially chatting with friends in the net who’s probably doing the same as me.. haha.
But then, anything changes when my mother announce something.
“We’ll go to Mokpo and stayed with our relatives the entire summer.” My mother smiled at the dinner table. WHAT?!? Mokpo? Where is that, I didn’t know we have relatives there. But Mokpo seems kind of familiar.
“You’re asking where Mokpo is, right?” My mother smirks at me. She does know me, well I’m her daughter after all.
“Mokpo is a city in South Korea, its where your Aunt Linda stays. We brought you there when you were still a baby.” My mother said and ate a spoonful of rice. I rolled my eyes. Look at the bright side, at least it was still a city so there are still computers there.
And so we packed our things then next day we flew to Korea. It was my first time, well not actually my first time, but the last time I was here is when I was 5 months old. So I consider this my first time. We arrive in the Incheon Airport and we were welcomed by a woman who is holding a placards saying our names.
“Oh, Eunji oppa.” The woman said. My father approaches her and hugs her. I guess this is Aunt Linda, Ji Young to be exact in Korean. My mother hug her, definitely, she’s my aunt.
“Jiyoung it’s been a long time.” My father said.
“Ne, oppa. How the flight, I hope you don’t have trouble while flying here.” She said.
“Well, we could have miss the flight, Thanks to your niece.” My mother pointed at me with her eyes.
“Oh, this is our Yeonmin already?” Aunt look at me a bit surprised.
“Annyeong Auntie.” I greeted her, it’s a bit awkward to be honest seeing a relative just now even I existed already for 16 years. I only knew her through pictures.
“Oh Yeonmin-sshi, you have grown so beautiful.” She said to me that made me blushed.
“Thank you Auntie.”
“Oh, what are we still doing here, We should go now or we’ll arrive home really late.” She said to us as she help us with our luggages. Outside the airport, she got us in to a cab and went to a train station, from there, we took the train and straight to go to Mokpo.
Finally arriving at Mokpo,
We were welcomed now by a man. Aunt Jiyoung hugged him, I guess this her husband, Uncle Ethan or Youngsoo in Korean. He gave my dad a brotherly hug and the he shake my mom’s hands.
“Welcome, welcome.” He greeted us then he looks at me.
“So this is Yeonmin-sshi already?” He smiled and my dad nodded.
“Wow, you grow up so beautifully. The last time I saw you, you we’re still a baby.” He said to me.
“Annyeong,” I greeted him. Definitely, it was a long time since I came here.
“Let’s go home now, it’s getting late. I suppose you’re famished and needed some rest to after a long flight.” Uncle Youngsoo said. They help us with our luggage and rode his car, Mokpo seems really nice. I thought we are going to stay in the city proper but to my disappointment it was near to the mountain and a river. We arrive at the house. The house looks like a lounge of Mountain Climbers, it was big but mostly it was made of wood yet it looks beautiful.
“Here we are.” Uncle Youngsoo said. And now we were welcomed by girl, probably same age as me.
“This is my niece, Soora. She’ll be staying here for the whole summer too.” Uncle Youngsoo introduced her. She smiled at us and bowed.
“Soora, show Yeonmin to we’re she’ll stay.” Aunt instructed her, she nodded and help me with my luggage.
At the guest room where I’ll stay,
“Here it is.” She smiled.
“Thanks.”
“No problem. Wow, I thought you can’t speak Korean.” She said to me, and I started to unpack. my things.
“Uh, well we use Korean if we’re home.” I stated.
“Ah, want some help in unpacking?” She asked and I nodded smiling. She started to help me as we talk and get to know each other. She really is a good person.
“Dinner’s is ready.” Aunt called for us from downstairs, It’s time to eat.
“Let’s eat.” Soora smiled.
“We went downstairs and the food was ready in the dining table. My father seems to be talking to Uncle Youngsoo for a long time. We ate our dinner, after the dinner, my mother told me that we have to talk so before going to sleep, I went to their room.
“Uhm, Yeonmin dear, we’ll be leaving you for now with your Aunt and Uncle, we need to go to Seoul to run some errands. Be good okay.” Mom told me straightforwardly.
“What? Why? I’ll go with you.” I demanded.
“This is important honey. Be good to them. We’ll go by tomorrow at dawn.” My mom said.
“I’ll come with you.” I insisted.
“Honey, this is important. You have to stay okay.” My dad said. I know if dad will say it, it’s no more buts. Haiz! I guess I’ll stay here for awhile. But then there is something more that I’m whining about,
“THERE’S NO COMPUTER!”
On the next day,
I got up earlier than expected, well I didn’t really stayed up night because there is no computer and net to surf on.
Mom and Dad already left by that time, they did really left in dawn. Sigh! I wonder what can I do. Soora is already up cooking breakfast for us. Aunt and Uncle sleep again since they are the one who drop off mom and dad in the train station at dawn.
“Good Morning.” I greeted her.
“Good Morning too.” She said as she flip the pancake in the pan. And then when it was finished she gave me some.
“Here” She said as she handle me the plate with pancakes. I started to eat.
“Yum!” I said in awe.
“Thanks!” I said to her and started eating. And then the doorbell rang, Soora quickly got the door. The dining area is near the living room which is where the door is located so I could see a boy talking to her. They talked for a while at the door, I was so curious that I kept on looking on the two, well more of watching them to be exact like I’m watching a movie. And then they boy left, Soora went back to me with a smile.
“Who’s that?” I asked.
“A neighbor of Aunt and Uncle, a friend of mine.” Soora said.
“Oh~ I thought he was your boyfriend?” I tease her.
“Aniyo.” I just raised an eyebrow, continuing to tease her through my look.
“Well, he asked me to go hiking. Maybe you should come?” Soora said.
“Hiking, not really my type of doing.” I confessed to her.
“You should really come, it will be fun.” She told me.
“I don’t know..” Is all I can say…
“Come on, it will be fun.” Soora said.
“mmm-“ Yeonmin couldn’t answer her.
“What else would you do here? Watching TV only?”
“ She got a point I’d say.” Yeonmin thought.
“Maybe I could try some.” she finally give in.
The next day, REALLY EARLY MORNING…
“Yeonmin wake up.” Soora wake Yeonmin up, but Yeonmin didn’t budge.
“It’s time to wake up Yeonmin or we’ll be late.” Soora kept on waking her up.
“Late for what?” Yeonmin mumbled as she sit up on her bed still with close of eyes.
“The point of going for hiking wouldn’t be fun anymore if you don’t wake up now.” Soora said.
“Arasso~ Arasso. What did I get myself too?” Yeonmin mumbled as she stands up and went to the bathroom to change. Soora just smiled at the sight of her. She quickly change and wore a t-shirt and a jogging pants and put some jacket since it was really cold that time. When she went down to the kitchen, she saw 2 guys, one of them was the one Soora is talking with yesterday.
“Oh, good thing you’re done, I thought you slept while taking a bact.” Soora teased. Yeonmin just smiled sleepily.
“By the way, this is Lee Hyukjae, a friend of mine.” She referred to the one Yeonmin saw yesterday.
(A/N :Sorry, there will be wouldn’t be no Soora when there’s no Hyukjae, haha~)
“Annyeong.” He smiled to her.
“Nice meeting you.” Yeonmin greeted back.
“That’s Donghae, he’s cousin, the really one who’s living here.” Soora introduce the other one with the black hair. Donghae just smiled to her, a bit shyly.
“Nice meeting you.” Yeonmin greeted.
“Nice meeting you too.” He stuttered a bit, his shyness unfolds.
“Let’s go or we’ll missed it.” Hyukjae said. Soora packed the things she prepare with the help of Hyukjae. A car was waiting for us outside.
“Who’s driving?” Yeonmin asked.
“Me.” Hyukjae said.
“Oh~” Yeonmin said. They rode the car, Hyukjae driving, Soora in the passenger’s seat (A/N: Ahihi~ *blushing*)[/b] , Yeonmin and Donghae on the back.
“Uhm so what do you think of Mokpo?” Donghae tried to start a conversation.
“Well, it’s not really the city I expected, but it was fine.” Yeonmin said plainly.
“Ah~ uhm, first time here?”
Yeonmin simply nodded. With how Yeonmin answered, Donghae understand that she’s not interested at any conversation.
Finally, they arrive at the bottom of the famous mountain in Mokpo.
“Shall we go?” Hyukjae asked.
<Yeonmin’s POV>
Woah, this mountain is a bit high I’d say. And so we started going up, there are people already there hiking too but personally this is my first time hiking and it makes me a bit awkward. I admit I get easily tired but men, those 3 are not human at all, they move so fast.
“Come on Yeonmin-sshi! You can do it.” Soora cheered but really it was no used. I’m so breathless. I need water.
“Here.” Donghae suddenly offered me his water.
“Thanks.” I accepted. Hyukjae and Soora was higher now since they keep on moving together like a couple but I guess this two is really a couple.
I’m so tired. I don’t think I can’t make it to the top. I haven’t seen Soora and Hyukjae, maybe the two already reach the peak of the mountain, Donghae on the hand was far in front of me. I can’t take it anymore, so I sit on the rock. Donghae came back to me and offered me again water.
“You’re not used to these things right?” he said. I just nodded due to my exhaustion.
“But we need to hurry or you’ll miss it.” Donghae said. I wonder what do they didn’t want to missed.
“You go ahead, I need a rest. My feet hurt.” I whined. I was catching my breath when he suddenly bend down, his back facing me.
“Huh?”
“I’ll give you a piggy back ride then.” He said to me.
“Wae?”
“Come on, it’ll be waste if we miss it.” He said to me. I sighed, I was really curious on what they didn’t want to miss. But then my feet really hurt, it was numb.
“Nah, it’s okay.” I refused, He then stand up, face me and just pouted so cutely. Woah! Now that I saw him more closer he is cute. Yeonmin stop it! I stood up even though I feel numb in my feet from the rock but there was a bit slippery mud that made me slip.
“Wah~”
He’s really quick and was able to hold me and pull me to him, securing me in his arms. Our face was inches away, seeing him more closer was a bit for me. I could see that he’s not just cute but he’s handsome!!! WAH!!!
“Careful.” He said. It was a bit shocking but I could feel myself burning up. We stayed at that state for minutes, I couldn’t speak really.
“Uhm, I’m okay now.” I stuttered shyly.
“Oh, sorry about that,” He said.
“Thanks anyways.” I smiled shyly to him. I took a deep breath then started to walk. Honestly, my feet still bit numb so my pace is a bit unsteady. He then went in front in me, his back facing him and in one move I was already in his back. (A/N :Okay, I don’t know how but this is possible right?)
“Wah!” I screamed.
“You can’t walk on that state.” He said to me.
“You can put me down. Really I can walk.” I insisted but he continued to walk. I give up, he is so persistent.
And finally we were able to reach the peak. I was amazed as I saw the peak.
“Oh there you are. We thought you would miss it.” Hyukjae said. Actually I didn’t pay attention on what they have said or talked about but really, I was amazed on the view. He then let me down, and let me hold in to him so I can stand stable.
“So beautiful~”
“I told you, it will be a waste to come here if we missed it.” He said. I was puzzled as I look at him. He then pointed the east, now that is a wonderful sight that I see once in a blue moon. I thought only in picture, drawing and fanarts can exist such a thing. It was really refreshing…
“A beautiful sunrise…” I mumbled.
“Pretty isn’t it?” He said to me. I just nodded in awe. It was really beautiful, no words can really describe that time.
“Good thing we made it.” He said.
“Let’s eat now.” Soora called. I didn’t know that Soora and Hyukjae are already preparing a breakfast picnic for all of us. My isn’t that much numb now but still Donghae help me get to the mat where the food was laid then sat beside me.
“Time to eat.” Hyukjae announce happily. We started eating with kimbap and kimchi.
“Yum, you cook this Soora?” I asked her and she nodded smiling.
“So you three always going here?” I asked them.
“Not really, only summer days. You see me and Soora live in Seoul. Donghae is the one who really lives here.” Hyukjae explained.
“But how do you know each other? And how did you know Donghae is Hyukjae’s cousin?” I’m a bit confused.
“Uhm, I always spend summer here since I was twelve, Donghae is really close to Uncle Youngsoo and Aunt Ji Young so they ask Donghae to tour me around. Hyukjae was a classmate of mine. And one summer, he spend it here, then Donghae went to our house with him, and I learned that Donghae is Hyukjae’s cousin.” Soora added.
“Ah~”
“So you this every summer?” I clarified.
“Yeah, even though we’ve been doing this the same every year, we never really get of tired doing it. It’s so rarely to see this view in Seoul, Seoul is full of building so it’s not really good sight.” Hyukjae confessed. I do understand it since I’m living in the main city of Singapore. After that, we went back home. Hyukjae and Donghae drive us home.
“Ooh, don’t forget tomorrow, let’s headed to a beach.” Hyukjae said.
“Ooh yeah~ I want to swim.” Soora happily said.
“You’ll come too Yeonmin right?” Donghae asked.
“Uhm sure. I don’t really have anything to do.” I said. He then smiled brightly.
“See you tomorrow.” Hyukjae said.
“See ya.” Donghae said smiling brightly and the two left.
At night…
Soora asked me if she can sleep with me, I said yes since it will be fun. I wanted to get more close to her. We could definitely talked all night. She came back from the shower room drying her hair.
“So you and Hyukjae together?” I teased her. I could really say the she blush instantly.
“Ani~ Hyukjae is a special friend.” Soora burst out shyly.
“Well, usually. Love does starts in that state.” I grinned.
“Wae, why are you like?”
“Hmm, he seems to be cute. Defenitely a cute couple you’ll be.” I grinned this time slyly. Her face was really red of blushing.
“Yeonmin-sshi~”
“Like I don’t know that something is building up with you and Donghae.” She suddenly said.
“Muot?” I hit back to her, though I admit, he is a ‘HOT ISSUE’…
“Haha, don’t play dumb, I know that look. I admit. Hyukjae oppa is someone really special. I have the same thing so I know if there is something building up.” Soora said as she sat beside her.
“I got to admit, Donghae is something. But nah~” I said. But I admit really, Donghae is something that is different from other man I met. He has this smile that makes you smile along. He has this innocence that really tells you his pureness in his heart. He is really something.
“I wonder if your smiling because your thinking about Donghae just now.” Soora suddenly said. Now I could really feel I’m burning up.
“But you know, when I met Donghae, he isn’t that really caring towards me,” Soora recalled.
“Maybe because he knows that you got Hyukjae already.” I hit back so she couldn’t hit back anymore.
“Yeonmin~ Let’s sleep now arasso.” She said and turn ofd the lights and laid next to me. Truthfully speaking, knowing that made me smile. Maybe Donghae is really someone, someone who could change my summer. Someone who’ll brighten up my summer, someone who could make it not boring at all and add thrill at it..
I close of my eyes wondering what will happen tomorrow that lead me to dreamland..
Yeonmin wake up early in the morning, she had a goodnight sleep. It was a bright new day for her. Soora was even shock seeing her up so early.
“Wow, you’re awake and I didn’t even need to wake you up? Sweet dreams last night?” Soora said. Yeonmin just nodded smiling. She feels different. Its like a new refreshing her from now on.
“Hmm, Unlike yesterday, now I could only see smile in your face, I guess Donghae help you adjust so quickly eh?” Soora teased.
“Tease all you want as if you feel the same way for Hyukjae.” Yeonmin pouted cutely.
“Where’s Uncle and Aunt? Do they know we’ll be going out?” Yeonmin asked.
“Work already, yeah. I told them and they say it was good since you could really enjoy summer by the beaches plus they are used already having camp out and outing with those two. Plus your parents knew too that you’re going with us.” Soora said as she give Yeonmin her breakfast and started eating.
“Uhm, get ready soon and packed thing for 2 weeks, we’ll stay at Donghae’s aunt near the cost, you’ll definitely like it there.” She smiled.
“Wait, so you’ve been there manytimes already?” Yeonmin asked.
“It’s like our tradition, you know like the mountain climbing yesterday. The next 2 weeks we’ll be in Donghae’s aunt house. I told you, Hyukjae and Donghae are really good friends of mine, it like our total bonding time since Donghae can’t really go to Seoul that much and visit us.” Soora explained. Yeonmin just smiled a bit like sad.
“Why? Are you jealous?” Soora teased smirk Yeonmin lightly slap her arm. Soora smiled.
“I guess this is love at first sight eh~” Soora teased more.
“Soora~, I’ll take a bath now and fixed my things.” Yeonmin said smiling. Soora just laughed.
Yeonmin took a bath and then fixed her things while Soora do her things. She was downstairs preparing breakfast.
“This is an outing so we’ll swim right?” Yeonmin mumbled as she fixed her things.
“Any problems?” A voice said. Yeonmin look at the door to find Donghae.
“Oh~ Not really.” Yeonmin said then closed her luggage,
“I think I already packed enough.” Yeonmin thought.
“Don’t’ worry about the laundry, there’s an ahjumma there that will take our laundry so you don’t really need to bring that many.” Donghae said. Yeonmin just nodded. She then stand up then tried to get her lift the luggage.
“I’ll do it.” Donghae volunteered.
“Aniyo, I’m fine.” Yeonmin smiled.
“Still.” Donghae said and winningly get the luggage from Yeonmin’s hands. Yeonmin just smiled as the two went down. This time lunch is already served.
“Let’s eat.” Hyukjae happily announce. The four started eating Soora’s famous Philippine Fried Rice (A/N: haha!)
“Uhm, YUM!” Hyukjae praise cutely. Soora blushed, Yeonmin elbowed her with grinned in her faced.
“Now now, don’t be so excited about him praising you.” Yeonmin whispered. Soora just chuckled.
“Huh? What you two talking about?” Hyukjae mumbled still eating.
“Nothing~” Yeonmin and Soora said in unison with bright smile. Donghae and Hyukjae just look at each other with questioning looks. They finished their lunches and headed on to the road. This time, its not quiet anymore. This time, unlike yesterday, Yeonmin spoke so much, having fun at the same getting to know them more and vice versa. Finally they arrive at the beach.
“Wow, its so beautiful.” Yeonmin in awe.
“Let’s go!” Donghae quickly drag Yeonmin playfully.
“Eh, help us first.” Hyukjae shouted but it was already to late.
“I guess we have let them enjoy. After all, its Yeonmin’s first time here.” Soora said as she started unpacking the car. Hyukjae nodded then help Soora to unload the thing in the van. Yeonmin and Donghae on the other hand was busy playing. Playing tag and splashing water at each other. Its was really fun.
<Yeonmin’s POV>
I admit, I’m more of a city-like a girl. I really haven’t enjoy the scenery much. Its always the same routine, House-School-home, when it was summer, its was always home or mall but being in the country side and enjoy such a beautiful scenery. It was awesome.
“Hey guys don’t play like there’s no tomorrow.” Soora shouted who is coming with Hyukjae. I look at Donghae with a grin, even in that single look, I know he got what I was planning..
“1-2-3” And we burst to the two and then drag them to the water.
“Wah~” The two reacted and me and Donghae started to splash them with water. We played, swim and do things. Literally we have fun, And as time goes by, it was already late afternoon, the sun was setting, we wouldn’t miss it than anything else.
“Here!” Donghae came back with Hyukjae from the house to get a towel, he gave me one of the towel as Hyukjae do the same for Soora.
“Thanks~”
We sat at the sand, looking at the sun setting. It was really a beautiful sight. I wished it would last forever. (A/N: This reminds me of COMPLETE THE STORY, right kambal?I miss EunNic couple and DrAe couple, haha..) They have decided to eat dinner outside. Soora made the dinner with Hyukjae while I and Donghae prepare the picnic table. No one is there except them. Donghae’s aunt isn’t living there anymore and just would visit if in vacation.
“So you three always go here in Summer?” I started a conversation.
“It’s like our tradition, you know like the mountain climbing yesterday. The next 2 weeks we’ll be in here. It’s like our total bonding time since the two can’t really stay here that much and visit me.” Just like what Soora said.
“Don’t you think you should move to Seoul? You are after all starting university soon?”
“Not really, it just that when I’m in the main city, I would miss the good stuffs here like a beautiful sunrise, sunset, star gazing, mountain climbing. And lots more.”
“Don’t you ever get tired, you could always use computer to see good sights with pictures.”
“But then it wouldn’t be the same. I just doesn’t feel right. Plus there are things that is more beautiful than the gadgets that is now frequently use. People forget how important the nature is.” He said.
It struck me. Technology is really unlike nature. It is something to enjoy than technology.
“Dinner’s ready” Soora called. Its time to eat.
As days passed and we spend it, playing in the beach, doing recreational stuff, they even bring me to the fish port and market to buy food that Soora will cook. Soora teach me dishes and one time I even tried doing some cooking and thankfully it wasn’t a fail. Donghae would tour me around and walk with me in the beach every night and the next thing we knew, we’ll play tag already like children, I hope every summer will be like this, I hope that everything would last forever. Donghae always was on my side, touring me around, guiding me, showing me everything that is beautiful. I smile every time he would show me something. It made my summer more lovelier. But then it made me realize that I have fallen for her. Day quickly passes, well that’s what they say, ‘time passes by when you’re having fun’, tomorrow we’ll go back to uncle’s house. It was night, the stars are really shining in the sky. I wanted to sleep now but my eyes wont shut down. I decided to take a walk, it was really refreshing. I then notice a fire was lit up near the beach. I went outside, I could definitely tell it was the guy who made this summer more memorable.
“he yeah~” I greeted as I sit beside him.
“Oh, still awake?”
“Ne, I couldn’t really sleep yet. You?” I smiled.
“I’m not driving anyways so its okay for me to stay up late.” He winked to me. I stared at the dark sky full of stars that shines so brightly.
“I’ll miss seeing this.” I mumbled.
“We could still see this when we go back home.”
“True, but still it won’t be the same.” I sighed.
“I-I-have something to tell you.” Donghae stuttered, I look at him with and he’s playing with the sand, like a child, he’s one arm wrapping his legs still playing with the sand.
“Huh~”
“Is that I..”
“That you?”
“I think I…”
“that you?”
“I- I , I’m happy that you went out with us. This is the best summer I have been.” He said abit stuttering. I just smiled.
To tell you the truth, I was a bit disappointed. I thought he would say more, but then. Who I am trying to fool? He wouldn’t fall for me. We just met for like almost 3 weeks only plus I would be going back to Singapore really soon. It wouldn’t work at all. But I’m satisfied that he like me being here. I look at the stars, it was really a good sight.
<Normal POV>
“Fool, why didn’t you tell it. Tsk tsk! Bapo!” Donghae thought. When he look at Yeonmin again, he could see her eyes close.
“Thinking about something?” Donghae answered. There was no replied. Donghae was puzzled. Suddenly, her head was place on his shoulder.
“she’s asleep already?” Donghae mumbled. She is indeed sleep with smile on her.
“An angel sleeping in my shoulders eh?” Donghae said. He let it be as he stared at the sky, it was a beautiful night for him.
The next morning,
“Yeonmin, wake up now!” Soora called out from downstairs. Yeonmin was woken up by her friend’s shout. But then she was puzzled that she was in her room.
“Huh? How did I get here?” She said. And then she look at around, she was in her room and one sight even more shock her.
“WAH!” Yeonmin shouted.
Soora and Hyukjae quickly went to her room seeing Donghae sleeping in the couch inside Yeonmin’s room. Donghae was waken up by the shout.
“Wha-what happened?” He asked.
“No the question is what are you doing here?” Hyukjae corrected.
“O-oh that, its that Yeonmin fall asleep outside yesterday, so I- I carried her in the room.” Donghae explain.
“Still, you didn’t answer the question of you sleeping in Yeonmin’s room.” Hyukjae crossed his arms, interrogating his cousin.
“Uh, its just that- that- she asked me- to- stay.” Donghae scratch his head. Soora and Hyukjae looked at Yeonmin.
“A-ah anio. I knew I fall sleep but-“
“I think she’s just sleeptalking, she does that sometimes.” Soora depended. Yeonmin nervously laugh.
“Aigoo! I thought something happened.” Hyukjae grinned. Yeonmin blushed and Donghae just scratch his head.
And so after that, they get ready to leave to go home,

A lot has happened with that 2 weeks, I was really happy. I got see more than what I expected. I thought it will be the same summer but then this summer is really from any summer I have. A memorable one with all this sight seeing. I wish I could just stay here. I wish I could just stay here and experience this everyday but then, sigh! Every happiness end in one bit. We returned home, this time we went more of a rock climbing. For the first time in my life, I was able to spend a summer without computers and net. It was really awesome. And mostly of all, I got to spend it with my new friends, especially him. One time, my mother and father finally came back, I heard a heart breaking news.
“Yeonmin, we’ll go back soon. So packed your things dear, we are going home the day after tomorrow.”
My mother said, instead of feeling happy that I am going home, I feel so heartbroken, I feel sad. I don’t want to leave Mokpo, I don’t want to leave Seoul.
Next day, all of us went together, for the last time..
“Aw, won’t you come back here again even in summer?” Hyukjae asked.
“I don’t know, maybe I’ll ask my parents to let me spend the summer.” I smiled to them.
“We’ll we should contact each other, you do know our number right? You’ll call us right?” Soora said.
“Of course.”
“Aish, Summer is really ending. Soon me and Soora will be back to Seoul. Poor Donghae will be alone.” Hyukjae said as he elbowed Donghae who is just silent.
“Well, we can’t help it. Tomorrow, definitely we’ll send you off right Donghae?” Hyukjae asked, Donghae just nodded. I was kinda disappointed that he wouldn’t talk. It’s like he didn’t care.
“Yeonmin, we should be packing now for tomorrow.” My mother called from the house.
“We’ll see you.” Hyukjae said.
“Bye!” Soora and I greeted.
“Bye!” Hyukjae is the only one who greeted back. Donghae was really sad. Why now that I’m going soon. It hurts me you know. I walked with Soora, Soora went running already to the house.
“Yeonmin.”
I heard his voice, that voice. I glance back and seen him.
“Meet me here tonight at 9. I’ll show you something.” Donghae smiled. Before even I could say, he was already running away.
Ottokhae? I could feel I’m burning. I hurriedly went to my house and just packed my things to take things off my mind, and not think any more than anything. I don’t want to get my expectations up.
Tonight..
I stayed in the house just looking from the window. if he does want to see me and he does. I was afraid that it was not true but he’s really waiting there in that cold night. I hurriedly went out wearing my jacket.
“You could have just went to the house than wait here.” I said to him. He just smiled.
“Here. Open this when you’re home back in Singapore.” He said and handed me a long box. He then suddenly hug me. Even in that cold night, he’s really hot.
“Take care always.” He said to me then let go and just left.
I was just looking at him. I still feel a but disappointed but still that present is cute. I’ll definitely won’t let him down, I’ll open this when I get home.
<Yeonmin’s POV>
It’s time to say Goodbye..
Hyukjae was there to send us off before going to Seoul to catch the flight but sadly Donghae wasn’t there.
“Goodbye Yeonmin, don’t forget to contact us okay?” Hyukjae said. I smiled to him and nodded.
But I kept looking for someone. He’s not with him, I keep looking at Hyukjae’s back but not trace of him.
“If you’re looking for Donghae, he’s not here and sure won’t be coming.”
It hit me, why? I was expecting him to say at least Goodbye to me. Is last night the last time I’ll see him.
“He’s sick today because he stayed last night in the cold night for hours. His cold got worse. So he has to be on bed to recover.” Hyukjae said.
Omo, last night? Did he stayed up that late waiting for me? Is that why he’s so hot when we hugged each other.
I left with tears on my eyes, not because of leaving Mokpo but because I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to him and now he’s sick and its all because of me. In the whole drive, I just kept on thinking. Maybe that I night, I should have tell him but then it wouldn’t work out right? He’s leaving her in Mokpo and I’m in Singapore. How could it work out? Thing kept popping to my mind as I drifted to sleep dreaming I was living in Mokpo with him.
“Yeonmin, were home.”
I wake up seeing my mother and father outside their the car. Did I hear them right that we’re home? I went outside the car, this isn’t our home. I look at them a bit puzzled.
“Well, we’ll be moving here officially in Seoul that why we were away the whole time. You’ll continue your studies here. I know it was sudden but your father was transferred here. I’m sorry Yeonmin.” My mother said.
I was glued to my place but the next thing I knew I was hugging my mother. I was surprise instead of being sad and angry that they made a decision without consulting me, I was happier than never. A smile was brought in my face, I am happy.
We got to fixed the new house today, actually almost all of our things is already there. Just the ones we brought really. At this night, it will be my first night here in Seoul, now my new home. Wait, speaking of my new home. I can open now my present right? I quickly got my bag where I hide his present for me. I was really a long-small box. I wonder what’s in it?
And when I open it, I was surprise to see a bottle with fireflies. (A/N: Sorry, that Fireflies MV really mark something on me. You know that kambal right?) It was shining so beautifully. Under it was a neatly folded letter with a note ‘to Yeonmin’
Dear Yeonmin,
I know you’re probably at home when you’re reading, well of course I told you to open it when you get home in Singapore. I hope you like what I have for you. Those fireflies can’t be easily be found in the mountains, they appear on an exact time at the end of summer.
Do you know why I gave you fireflies?
Well, they’ll remind you the summer you spend in Mokpo.
Actually there’s more.

I know, I’m a coward. I’ve been meaning to tell you that for ages now. You made my summer a lovely one, something to be treasured the most. Its just to sad that we only had one month to spend it. I don’t know if you’ll comeback again, I just hope you will. I wish everyday you’ll be by my side, make not just my summer by my whole life a lovely one to live. I love you Jeung Yeonmin…

Omo! Tears started to flow in my eyes, I never thought he would do such a thing. I quickly get my phone and went down talking to my mother..
Next Morning.
<Normal POV>
“Soora, why did you have ask so suddenly for a mountain climbing.” Hyukjae complain.
“I just want to see the sunrise before we go back to Seoul. Classes will start next week and we wouldn’t get to see this until next summer right.” Soora smiled.
“Arasso but this would be fun if Yeonmin is here. Look at Donghae.” Hyukjae look down, Donghae was on a slow phase.
“You’ll see.” Soora winked.
Finally they reach the top, just on time to see the sunrise.
“I just wished that Yeonmin was here.” Donghae sighed.
“She’s here ready to face a new sunlight with someone dearest to her.” Someone whispered in his side. Donghae perfectly knew who’s voice is that. He look at his side and saw Yeonmin smiling at him.
“I thought that you left already.” Donghae stuttered.
“Hmm, we’ll let just say that my home is more closer to you.” Yeonmin winked. Donghae burst in to her and hug her tight. Yeonmin hugged back.
“Saranghae.” Donghae said.
“Saranghae oppa.” Yeonmin smiled. The Donghae kissed her forehead. He look at her then lock his lips to hers under the sun shining brightly ahead of them. It was a lovely summer for both of them.
“My cousin is growing up so fast.” Hyukjae whined. Soora patted his back.
“Hey, Soora..”
“Hmm?”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Ne?”
“You said you want to have Superman as your boyfriend right?” Soora just nodded at what Hyukjae said.
“Can I be your Superman.?” Hyukjae asked looking down. Soora then hugged Hyukjae.
“Defenitely-“
“You are my Superman from the start.” Hyukjae smiled and hugged her back.
After 3 days,
Yeonmin and Donghae officially dated and so does Soora and Hyukjae ( A/N: You wouldn’t mind right huh?). Of course, It’s a bit still a long distance relationship for the two but then its much more closer. Yeonmin was enrolled to the same school as where Soora and Hyukjae are attending.
“Hey, we have a new student today eh~” Soora said.
“Jongmal? “ Yeonmin asked.
“Yeah!”
“At least I wouldn’t be the only one who’s new here.” Yeonmin smiled. And then the classes started, the teacher went in followed by a boy. Yeonmin didn’t pay attention at first and her mind was drifting off, thinking about her Donghae.
“Please introduce yourselt.”
“My name is Lee Donghae, I’m from Mokpo.”
Yeonmin’s attention was caught at that sentence. She quickly look at the boy in front of them. She smiled at the sight of the boy, the boy who smiled back to her. It was the boy who made her summer a lovely one. It was the boys who she loves.
“Welcome to the Seoul Highschool. Uhm you can sit beside Yeonmin-sshi.” The teacher said, the boy bowed and went to his sick.
“I thought you don’t want to live in the city?” Yeonmin whispered to him.
“Let’s just say that I couldn’t leave the one I love in a new city alone.” Donghae winked.
